Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation Vermont Gold Star Monument Dedication
On 5 October 2018, Vermonters United to Help and The Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, in coordination with SOSC Conner, held the dedication of the Woody Williams Gold Star Family Monument in Northfield, Vermont, just outside the gates of Norwich University.
Over 300 people attended the dedication. Attendees included Governor Phil Scott, Major General Steven Cray, Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams, and Mr. Randy Reeves, the Under Secretary of Memorial Affairs. Approximately 15 Gold Star Families attended, including Gold Star family members from the Navy and the Coast Guard.
The event was supported by the Navy Gold Star Program, Vermont National Guard Family Programs Office, Military OneSource, and The Combat Vets Association. Norwich University was an integral part of the event, having supplied the PA system and the National Anthem.
