WELCOME TO THE SOLDIER & FAMILY READINESS GROUP!

Soldier & Family Readiness: How you can help our Vermont National Guard families:
Our Soldier and Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs) are the backbone of Family Programs. Without the tireless efforts of our SFRG volunteers, we could not effectively take care of our Vermont National Guard families. Whether peacetime or during deployments-our SFRGs are an invaluable link to meeting the mission of Family Readiness for the Vermont National Guard.
Our SFRGs are made up of volunteers: spouses, domestic partners, parents, siblings and community stakeholders. There are SFRGs located throughout the state-from St. Albans to Westminster and Lyndonville to Bennington and everywhere in between! These groups plan family days that brings a unit’s soldiers and families together, so they know they are not alone. In a state as rural as Vermont, that is a beautiful thing.

Our SFRGs provide support services to our families during times of deployments. These groups create a “telephone tree” system to call on families who have a loved one deployed. They can assist with resources, especially to those families who are experiencing a deployment for the first time. They also coordinate care packages to our troops and letters-letters from our community school children that service members have stated they love to receive!
